Moonrise Horizon on Planet 9

This is a site specific installation I created at the Wassaic Project as part of their annual 2017 summer exhibition entitled Vagabond Time Killers. I created the piece in a nook on the 4th floor of Maxon Mills, a former working industrial mill in the hamlet of Wassaic, NY.

The installation features wonky sculptures and hanging objects that reference celestial bodies and weather phenomenon while remaining squarely in the land of make believe. A mirrored cloud lays on the ground while a patch of "stuffed" sky rotates and fat paint spattered rain droplets dangle. Scroll to view motion.

Dimensions variable, approx: 123" x 106" x 78," acrylic, gouache, graphite, spray paint on plexi, wood, paper mache and magic sculpt. 2017
